How our PTCB practice tests work
Updated
PTCB Quiz Prep is built around one goal: honest, accurate practice that reflects the PTCE as it actually is in 2026. Here is what that means for our practice tests and study guide.
Aligned to the 2026 PTCE outline
Our full-length exams use the official domain weighting effective January 6, 2026: Medications 35%, Patient Safety 23.75%, Order Entry 22.5%, Federal Requirements 18.75%. Many older prep tools still use the previous weighting.
Randomized every attempt
Each attempt draws a fresh set from our question bank and shuffles the answer order, so you learn concepts instead of memorizing answer positions. On this device, we avoid repeating questions until you have seen the whole bank.
Every answer cites a source
Each explanation links to the primary source it was verified against: DailyMed, the DEA, FDA, ISMP, USP, or the PTCB outline. You can check our work rather than take our word for it.
Per-domain scoring
After each exam you get an overall score plus a breakdown by domain, so you know exactly which area to drill next instead of guessing.
Exam-realistic timing
The full test mirrors the real PTCE: 90 questions in 110 minutes, with a timer that runs the whole way and does not pause, just like test day.
Free, with no sign-up
Every test is completely free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no paywall, and your answers are never sent to a server.
