Top Drugs for Pharmacy Technicians: Brand & Generic List

Updated

Brand and generic fluency for the most-dispensed medications is the highest-yield memorization work in PTCB prep. This list groups 157 common drugs by therapeutic class so you can learn them in related sets rather than as isolated names. When you are ready, drill them with our top 200 drugs quiz.

How to study this list

Learn each drug as a triple: brand, generic, and primary use. Suffix families make it faster, since -statin, -pril, -sartan, -olol, and -prazole each signal a class. A top-drug list is a study aid, not the official PTCE scope, which the PTCB outline defines.
